I'll write about my daily life, as a PhD Student at the University of Illinois. I'll put some photos from my town, Urbana, and some music.

Fireworks

I shot this one during the last 4th of July celebrations. We were lying down on the grass, watching the fireworks explode above our heads! Fortunately I had remembered to take my tripod, and my old point and shoot camera! Since the small camera couldn't shoot high ISO, the exposure time is long.   Posted by Picasa

San Francisco, Powell/Market turntable

Yes! They turn the whole thing manually! Isn't it amazing?!

The infamous San Francisco cable car

The technology of these cable cars which run through San Francisco city dates back to 1870s. And it is still operational. Yes, still manually, as it was done 100 years ago. It's a really interesting experience. (Well, the ride isn't quiet or plush at all, but seeing the driver operate the car, engaging the cables and hand braking manually IS interesting!)

Dawn

I took this photo at around 5 AM in the Milwaukee airport, on my way to the beautiful city of San Francisco.

The reflection of the airport lights reminds me how badly I need to get a polarizing filter!
